It is a French international NGO, implementing
30 projects and programmes in 15 African
countries.

CIDR
activities
CIDR is currently working in Nyeri, Kirinyaga
and Kisii districts. In the former, CIDR
is promoting the implementation of community
based health financing programme and networks
(CBHF) through action research approach.
The ultimate goal is to establish CBHF
Schemes which are institutionally, technically
and financially autonomous. The schemes
must respond to the different local contexts
so as to validate the methodological approach
which can be shared with other actors.
CIDR supports the CBHF schemes
through:
Promotion
At sub location level
At the group level
Directly with households
Designing packages
Participatory design of the preferred
packages, services and contributions with
the CBHF scheme members.
Training/Capacity building
To the executive committees of the CBHF
schemes, (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer,
Secretary and Inspector)
To CBHF members including the beneficiaries
To hospital staff – medical, administrative,
revenue and accounts staff
To the technical team – Local CIDR
project staff members
